*Snore Snore* “Ah! 7:00am. Time for another day of work!” our Financial Director Carl Wootton says, as he dreams about those numbers.
With all the sheep counted, it is now time for Carl to count the profits!
But first, breakfast! A slice of bread with a spread of Nutella please, that’s enough for Carl!
“WOOF WOOF”
“Oh, good morning Ted, my west highland terrier. I see you have brought me your lead?”
“Yes.”
“Come on then Ted, let’s go for a walk”
As Carl works from home, there ain’t no leaving time for him. He can have breakfast whenever he wishes, but of course, some days require a little pop into the office.
First off, Carl will check out what cash has come into to the business, by using our internet banking. He makes sure that clients have paid us on time, or finds out when they will be sending it over.
He will then input the paid cash into spreadsheets so that he can work out the cash flow for the end of each month.
Carl will spend A LOT of time speaking to banks on a weekly basis, sometimes even every day if needs be. They will chat profits, and he show them that we’re in good shape. You know, the usual.
Time to catch up with our Financial Controller, and partner in crime, Sarah.
First off, to cross off the most important issue of the day, they will make sure to talk about dogs. Then they will actually talk about work for a bit…
For lunch, it is normally just whatever is in the house. Could be a nice surprise of pie and chips, or a sad sorrowful lunch of chicken and rice…oh wait that IS what Carl has for lunch!
Carl is a big protein man, so he will use his munching time to get as much protein in as he can.
“WOOF WOOF”
“Ted. Hello again, you wanting to go on another walk?”
“Yes.”
“Alrighty then, let’s go”
Full of food and protein, time to tackle the afternoon!
It’s time for Carl to catch up with our Credit Controller, and other partner in crime, Louise.
They will check up on any news regarding clients, new and current, and see if anything is needs to be actioned.
Next, it’s time to get that crystal ball out, and use it to predict any profits at the start of the month.
He shows the bank our forecasts and where our profits are being invested during the month.
Carl is also actively looking at ways we can constantly save money as well – Turn those darn lights off when you’re not in that room!
Carl will find himself with the most unpredictable of weeks a lot of the time, as his work tends to be just given to him there and then, or the phone will ring unexpectedly.
But he will always make sure to catch up with his fellow directors, either in person or over those gosh darn Zoom meetings.
Work is done, it is time to have a good old workout, in his…HOME GYM?! Carl has a home gym?!
Wait…AND a hot tub?! Well…
Carl is a passionate football fan, so any games that are on, he is whacking them on the TV. Nottingham Forest is his team… we won’t mention that anymore I guess at the moment.
*YAWN*
Carl seems to be getting tired, but wait, this exciting cliffhanger to this great new show he is watching needs to be finished. He can’t go to sleep not knowing what has happened. So the usual time of 10:30pm for bedtime is out the window!
