A Day In The Life Of: Natalie Wilson

“Yawn. Ah 5:55am, time for the day”

Yes, that is the time that Natalie Wilson, one of our Recruitment Consultants from our Chesterfield branch gets up in the morning. As she claims, it’s so she can cheekily tell people that she gets up during the 5’s. (Although, to be fair to her, some days she will actually wake up at 5:00am… she says!)

She is now awake. No breakfast, but it’s time to start building castles on her phone (some game she’s been playing). Recently, she has been providing herself with a protein shake for the past month, to not only encourage herself to be healthy, but get some food down her when it’s too early to face anything solid!

Once those castles have been built, and the protein shake is consumed, she is in the car. She leaves home at 7:40am to zoom through the traffic and roads of Chesterfield to reach our head office.

“Good morning everyone!” she will say. “Good morning” her team will reply. But soon enough, the clock hits 8:00am. It is time to start work.

First things first, check-ins need to be sorted. Then there will be an unexpected email in her inbox, asking for a booking that needs to be filled ASAP. The team pull together to get it sorted as quickly and smoothly as possible.

She’ll then go through her worker schedule for the day and the regular email checking before it’s time for the morning meeting! “What’s going on here?”, “Who’s doing this?”, and “Where is this person?” are the many questions of the morning meeting.

Once those last minute bookings have been worked on, she will either be free to work on sales related projects or get out and about running inductions.

*Knock knock* “Hello, I’m Natalie from Essential Recruitment! Fancy a cup of tea and a biscuit?” Yes, whilst door knocking and looking for those next potential clients, she will, as the common phrase goes, pop round for a cuppa!

Along with this, comes the every-now-and-then tasks; bringing temps forgotten safety boots, nipping to Screwfix for hard hats, attending Sales days, and the occasional traffic warden!

As soon as Natalie gets home, the already prepped meal that she made on the Sunday before will be popped into the microwave. Whilst it slowly turns round and round in its orange glow, she runs a bath. Lavender is the usual bubble bath scent, but if not, she will use whatever is lying around – there just has to at least be a bath ready! Now the bath is ready, it is time for tea…in the bath. (Tupperware floats, did you know?!)

If the call of getting home for a lovely warm bath hasn’t consumed her, she will have a session at the gym before she gets home, but most of the time, that lavender temptation has already taken over.

Bath is done. Tea has been eaten. Now it’s time for a spot of TV. ‘Pretty Little Liars’ is the preferred choice at this moment in the time, and Natalie is ready to go again the next day.

Can you remember what time she gets up?… Yes. 5:55am. Well done.
