Welcome to the team: Alex Offless

We recently welcomed Alex into our Worksop team as Recruitment Resourcer.

We wanted to get to know him a little better, so we had a chat about his experience so far, his background and how he’s getting on!

So, what made you choose a role with Essential?

“I wanted to start a career in recruitment within a well established business.

I am experienced in sales such as door knocking and telesales, and with this I believe I can bring more sales to the Worksop branch. I also have many years experience of working on phones and in office environments so although I’ve never worked in recruitment before, I believe I have done many aspects to the role across my previous roles.”

How has your first month gone?

“My role so far has been a lot of everything, training, sales, screening candidates etc. I have done a little of everything so far but had training on most.”

What did you do before coming to Essential?

“Before Essential I worked in customer services, this for me was a job I had experience in and something I knew I could do until I found something that suited me more and something I would enjoy and here I am! Before this I was working for Eaton in Sydney in customer services. My time in Sydney was working for a few different companies employed by recruitment agencies which is partly the reason for me wanting to start recruitment once I returned to England.”

What would you say to anyone considering a career with Essential?

“I would certainly encourage people to join Essential. The reason for this is how everyone encourages each other to perform to their highest capability. Everyone is extremely helpful with this task. I enjoy meeting clients and candidates and also being out on the road door knocking or upselling trying to bring on new business.

What do you do outside of work, for fun?

“For fun I play sports mainly, Football, Boxing and Squash”.
