Reasons Why Agencies Won’t Offer You Work Again

Working for an agency is no different from being employed directly by the company. We still expect a high level of hard work, dedication and punctuality when we place you into work. Here are some reasons as to why we have stopped offering people work again within our agency…

1. Lateness

If you are regularly late to work this doesn’t give a good impression to the company. They are relying on you to be on time to help keep daily operations smooth and keep productivity going. If a company is paying you to start from a certain time, they expect you to be working from that time. There is always the odd instance where for some unforeseen reason i.e. car accident on your route to work, that can cause you to be late but if you are late on a regular basis you will most likely be let go due to lack of commitment to the job.

2. Absenteeism

If you regularly take a lot of time off work, you risk becoming highly unreliable. Let’s not beat around the bush, a businesses’ main priority is making money, and if the company can’t rely on you to be at work and contribute to the business they are going to replace you with someone who will. As well as a risk to your reputation, is it also a risk to an agencies reputation too. If we keep placing candidates into work who are unreliable, it makes us look unreliable too, and companies could potentially look to work with other agencies instead and we’d lose business. Remember, when you are employed by an agency, you are representing that agency, so you are also upholding our reputation too. We often receive very poor excuses for people not going into work, like ‘being too tired’. We are all tired at times, life can be tiring, but that’s not a good enough excuse to not come into work, a lot of your colleagues will be tired to but will still be showing up when they are expected too.

3. Poor attitude

If you have a poor attitude to work, it will reflect in your productivity and contribution to the role and your colleagues and management will notice. Having a poor attitude can cause conflict in the workplace, because those who are working hard will find it unfair to see someone not pulling their weight and still being paid the same as them, and companies don’t want to your poor attitude to affect the attitude of other workers. Poor attitude can also be in regards to how you speak to your colleagues and superiors. If you speak to people disrespectfully, swear and act like you don’t care then the workforce is no longer going to want to work with you.

4. Being on their phone

It’s not acceptable to be on your phone while at work, especially when working within an industrial environment as being distracted could lead to accidents in the workplace. While you’re at work you are being paid to perform your job duties, so if you’re caught repeatedly procrastinating by scrolling on your phone it’s very likely your management will not accept the behaviour and you will risk losing your job.

5. Lack of effort, motivation or disinterested

Similar to having a poor attitude, showing signs of being unmotivated and disinterested in your work will result in the company no longer requiring you to work there. At the end of the day, the company is relying on you to do the job in hand to keep the business operating and moving forward, so if you’re lacking in production then your value as a member of the team will decrease. If you are not enjoying the role, the best thing to do is to speak to someone about it and be honest, the agency can help you find work elsewhere, rather than providing a poor work ethic and being sacked by the company.
