Production Team Leader

Hours: Monday to Friday / 06.00 – 14.00, 14.00 – 22.00, 22.00 – 06.00

Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 per annum

Location: Rotherham

Contract Type: Permanent

 

Due to continued growth and expansion we are currently looking to recruit a Production Team Leader to join our client based in Rotherham on a permanent basis.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safe and efficient operation of the machines by following the correct SSOWs
  • Assisting with/ delegation of machine set-up and the elimination of machine faults.
  • Working towards increasing production whilst maintaining the required quality within the specified limits.
  • Reduction of rejects through the best possible set-up of all machines, optimisation of process capabilities and following the controlled, approved procedures in place.
  • Working closely with the Operations Manager to prioritise orders and organise resources to ensure completion in a timely manner.
  • First point of contact for communication throughout the team, across all machines, on all matters.
  • Close monitoring of new customers first time orders.
  • Scrutiny of machine set-up, customer specification, to be visible and documented as specified.
  • Replenishing stock including collection and labelling of samples & trials.
  • Environmental compliance includes separating & disposing of the different waste streams, using the compactor and Shredder under compliance of relevant SSOWs.
  • Overseeing storage & stacking of finished products to provide best utilisation of the warehouse storage area.
  • Recording in the production report with appropriate comments throughout the course of the day.
  • Precise input into SAP system to ensure maximum data integrity.
  • Quality checking of all items and rejecting where they do not meet the requirements
  • Informing Operations Manager & Production Planning of any exceptional circumstances including loss of staff in the production process across all machines or material problems within a reasonable time so that production losses can be kept to a minimum.
  • Promoting of statutory and operational regulations with regards to occupational health & safety and workflow.
  • Ensuring faults, accidents, incidents &/or suggestions of improvements, across all machines, are reported/recorded in a timely manner.
  • Managing effective cleaning and maintenance in accordance with valid work instructions, (SSOW).
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with colleagues and customers to continuously improve the working atmosphere and performance.
  • Define skills and competence requirements for staff and ensure that identified training and skills needs are met. Maintain and update records of training, development, and competence for the team.
  • Monitor team performance
  • Participate in performance improvement programmes for both people and processes.
  • Planning of staff
  • Assist on the Coex Machines when required, under compliance of relevant SSOWs.
  • Various other duties, as and when required

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years working as Production / Manufacturing team leader/ supervisor
  • Candidate must be able to commute using their own transport
  • Must feel confident making tough decisions which will impact the business
  • Experience working with various production processes
  • Engineering or Manufacturing qualification would be beneficial although not essential
