Donating to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice

Essential Recruitment are delighted to donate £100 to our Chesterfield client Wayne, as he takes on an incredible 24 hour challenge to raise funds for Bluebell Wood.

Over the weekend of the 25th – 26th September, Wayne Nortjé, Operations Director at Blachford UK Ltd, took on a 24 hour batting challenge to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Starting at 2pm on Friday 25th, Wayne took on a 24-hour batting endurance challenge against a bowling machine at S20 The Boundary, a bespoke indoor cricket centre, finishing at 2pm on Saturday 26th September.

The challenge is raising funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, a charity who support babies, children and young people with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions.

Bluebell Wood provide end of life care, bereavement support and ‘short breaks’ for children, young people and their families to enjoy activities and create memories together.

The support Bluebell Wood provide is completely free to families making fundraising and raising awareness of their cause incredibly important. It costs around £6.5 million each year to keep Bluebell Wood’s doors open with only around 16% funded through statutory funding. The rest relies on donations and fundraising support from businesses, communities and individuals.

We’re incredibly proud to support Wayne’s fundraising efforts and help shine a spotlight on the amazing work Bluebell Wood does. Every donation helps make a difference, giving families support, comfort, and the chance to create lasting memories together when they need it most.
