Get to know Tom:

Tom joined our Recruitment Agency in 2021. Here’s your chance to get to know her more!

My Story:

I wasn’t sure what I was looking for, but I saw a Marketing position on the Essential website. I applied, and was offered the position of a Marketing Assistant. My role was adapted to my strengths and allowed me to use my illustration and animation skills to producing marketing material; I was promoted to Creative Artworker back in September 2022.

My Role:

My role as Creative Artworker involves creating content such as animations, illustrations, and graphic design. I bring a unique approach to our team’s marketing content, providing animations which you don’t see a lot of recruitment agencies putting out there – which is also the part of the role I enjoy most; being able to create content that stands out and is a bit different to the stuff you usually see.

Outside of work, you’ll find me:

I love drawing. I do a lot of digital art, creating worlds and illustrating comics. Almost every night I will spend time in my study drawing little worlds that just pop out of my head onto the canvas.

Me and my partner love playing video games. I am a huge Nintendo fan, so any games or consoles of theirs, I’m on it! We also love playing card games such as Magic the gathering and DnD. Currently we’re in a campaign with our best friends – I’m a flamboyant drunk old man who hangs out in taverns complaining (but not in real life…).

I’ve got two lovely pooches. One Goldren Retriever named Mildred, and her daughter, a Goberian named Robin. I will spend most weekends walking them through the woodlands, and every now and then travelling down to nice little locations like Bakewell or Chatsworth for example.

If I could instantly master any skill…

I would master carpentry. I could just pop into my shed and hey presto, I’ve made you something! Need a place to sit, no worries, here’s a nice wooden chair. “Oh no I need a planter for my herbs!”. Don’t worry Gladys, here’s a lovely handmade planter I have made just now.
