We implemented our Employee Council at the start of 2023, with our council members joining the committee after being voted in by their colleagues to represent them.
We opened the opportunity to the branch network and invited individuals to put their pitch forward. The candidates told their fellow employees what they planned to do with the position, and why they wanted to be voted in.

Since the formation, the Council have attended all Board Meetings to discuss their findings with the Directors and Trustees. As part of our Employee Owned status, it was decided that one council member would remain in the meeting for the duration, ensuring full transparency between the board and the rest of the branch network.

Implemented a new method of sharing activity between consultants to inspire, educate and encourage interbranch co-operation.
Instigated a new incentive scheme for consultants based on healthy competition between the branch network.
Fixed a gap in communication where Board Meeting Minutes were not communicated in enough detail.
Identified training refresher opportunities where there were knowledge gaps in branch.
Addressed a concern from Employee Owners regarding work/life balance, which resulted in 3 extra days of annual leave being added to our allowance.
Opened communication for various issues where messages had been missed or misunderstood
Approached sensitive feedback topics, allowing for more appropriate communication from the board to the rest of the staff
Prompted the development of an online sales brochure, ensuring our information can be seamlessly updated and reducing print consumption.
