We recently welcomed Emma White into our Barnsley team as our newest Recruitment Consultant! We spoke to her to find out more about her experience so far.
Emma wanted a new challenge that was completely out of her comfort zone to see if it was something she would enjoy and be able to apply herself to. Before joining us, Emma worked in mainly animal based roles. “I worked in a petting zoo for three years handling and training all kinds of animals from foxes to snakes and most things in between. In my last job I worked in an aquatic warehouse looking after and selling marine fish and creatures which was a rather interesting job especially working with one of my favourite animals… octopuses!”
Her new role as Consultant has turned out to be the new challenge that she was seeking; “At the moment everything is very much like being thrown in at the deep end and learning on the job which is great as I feel like I’m learning so much everyday. I’m going out and meeting all of our clients currently to get a good feel for the company and who it will be that I’ll be speaking to at each of the companies.”
We asked what Emma feels she will be bringing to the team, to which she replied “a rather dry sense of humour, which does seem to go down well especially when it comes to lightening the mood!”
In her spare time, Emma goes camping and off-roading in her Land Rover. “I have a tent on top of the car which is ideal for just going and camping wherever I like with ease. I also spend lots of time modifying and unfortunately having to fix the car as it does like to break something at any given opportunity!”
We finished up the chat with Emma reflecting on her time here so far; “I would definitely recommend others to this company as I feel that everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. Everyone is so knowledgeable on their role which is great and I feel like I learn a lot from them everyday.”
