Spud Man’s Derby pop up draws in crowds for charity
Our Senior Perm Consultant Charlie visited our client TC Harrison Group’s Derby site as hundreds queued up from 5:30am for a jacket potato, all in support of ‘Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity’.
We’re always proud to see people giving back to their local communities, and this weekend was a fantastic example of that in action.
When social media sensation Spud Man was looking for a location to host one of his popular pop-up events, our client, TC Harrison Group, stepped in and offered the use of their Derby site car park. The event, which ran from 31 July to 2 August, is supporting Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity, with 10% of all takings being donated towards fundraising for a dialysis caravan for the Renal Unit.

Our Senior Permanent Recruitment Consultant, Charlie Baker, visited the event and had the opportunity to meet Spud Man in person while showing her support for the fundraising effort. Of course, no visit would have been complete without enjoying one of his famous jacket potatoes too! (Chicken curry was the topping of choice!)
The day also provided a great opportunity for Charlie to catch up with the team at TC Harrison Group. She met with Alan from the service department, and caught up with fellow placements Adriana and Jonathan to see how they are settling into their roles.
Charlie also spent time with Joel Harrison, son of Chairman Peter Harrison, discussing the event and the positive impact it is having within the local community.

We’re delighted to have contributed to such a worthwhile cause and to see one of our valued clients supporting an initiative that will make a real difference to local patients and their families.
A big thank you to TC Harrison Group for hosting the event, and to everyone who has visited and donated this weekend.
We wish SpudMan every success with the fundraising effort.
