Modern Day Slavery 2020 Donation

Today we donated £500 to the Salvation Army to help them support victims of Modern Slavery.
With the money they support victims by easing their transition to independent living. This could include things like a deposit and furniture for a new home, clothing for a job interview, a bike to get to work, school uniform for children, maternity and baby items, childcare costs to enable people to access education and training, therapeutic leisure activities such as gym and swimming sessions and birthday treats.

This year we asked our Facebook followers, candidates, staff & clients to join us in spreading awareness by creating a poster and uploading it to our Facebook post, donating £1 to the Salvation Army for every photo we receive, up to £500.
Take a look at some of photos submitted by our staff and clients:
The Salvation Army has held the Government contract to provide specialist support to adult victims of modern slavery in England and Wales for more than nine years.
In that time, they have supported more than 12,500 victims, through safe accommodation, outreach support and specialist services tailored to each individual.
Did you know that around 40 million people are trapped in modern slavery worldwide?
– 1 in 4 are children.
– 71% are female
– 10,000+ potential victims were identified by the authorities in the UK last year.
