The roles at both companies are very similar, however one works with ceramics and one with wax.

However, due to the nature of the role, the only qualities they are looking for include:
- Having a great level of attention to detail
- Being dexterous and able to work with small parts
Ross Ceramics
£24,648 per annum
- Monday to Friday, days and afters rotating
- Days: Monday to Thursday 6am – 2.30pm / Friday 6am – 12.30pm
- Afters: Monday to Thursday 2pm – 10pm / Friday 11.30am – 5pm

Ross Ceramics, who are a part of the Rolls-Royce group, manufacture complex geometry ceramic cores.
These cores are used in the investment casting of high performance directionally solidified and single crystal gas turbine engine components both for aerospace and industrial applications.
In this role you will be sitting down at a bench, using metal hand files to trim and file ceramic cores to the required finishing level.

- Monday to Thursday 4.45am – 3pm
- Monday to Thursday 6am – 3pm / Friday 6am – 11am
- Monday to Thursday 3pm – 1.15am

Tarpey Harris’s products are used for aerospace as well as industrial gas turbine engines.
In this role you will also be sitting at a bench, visually inspecting and trimming small components an finishing them to a high standard.
