Essential Support for Ukraine

The war in Ukraine has gripped the world – we watch, stunned and speechless as countless acts of terror unfold upon innocent citizens.

Our support comes from our hearts, but also from empathy for our community. Many of our workers, neighbours and colleagues have family and friends in Ukraine or the surrounding countries and are deeply concerned at the evolving situation.

Our Business Development Manager’s, Andrea and Charlie, have utilised our charity pot to support Mrs Malgorzata, a Burton resident who has a van which she will be sending to the Polish-Ukrainian border, with all the items below on Saturday 5th March. Almost 400,000 refugees have so far crossed the Polish border. Mostly mothers with children and elderly people who are exhausted and ill and desperately need help.

Charlie has placed boxes in her local park for residents to fill with supplies if they wish to contribute, and Andrea bought supplies from the supermarket.

The supplies include:

*painkillers

*antibiotics

*plasters

*bandages

*flu & cold and cough syrups for children

*medical supplies

*hygiene products

*disposable gloves

*paracetamol

*ibuprofen

*cold & flu medicines

*cough medicines for adults

*diarrhoea medicines

*electrolytes

*hygienic pads

*nappies

*lidocaine

*glucose

*individual first aid kits

*disinfectant wipes

*antiseptics

On delivering the items, Andrea said “Our Neighbourhood rose to the challenge and have rallied around with fantastic support.  When I delivered the supplies from Essential, Malgozata and her husband were knee high in donations and very grateful. Since then I have had other family and friends also contribute and an additional £200 worth of products donated.”
