The event was one of a series of successful business events the club has hosted with many more planned over the next 12 months.

Academy manager Dan Robinson presented the vision of the academy and the positive impact it has on the first team to the businesses in attendance. He also stated that the academy will be training and playing their home matches at St George’s Park from next season.

Anne Longbottom and Carol Bragg from Staffordshire University discussed the legislation changes introduced by the government this April for funding apprenticeships and how these changes will affect all businesses.

Andrea Tantrum, Essential Recruitment Business Development Manager said: “Essential Recruitment were delighted to attend their first Club Albion breakfast meeting yesterday. The event was extremely well attended by many local companies who enjoyed coffee and breakfast rolls whilst listening to a presentation by Dan Robinson who explained how the academy worked and the successes they have achieved. In addition Staffordshire University gave an extremely informative presentation on the apprenticeship levy and how it will affect companies with a £3m + salary bill. The whole meeting was well presented and enjoyed meeting many different companies, many of whom are also Club Albion members. Looking forward to attending future events.”

Fleur Robinson, Commercial Director said: “We introduced the business club at the beginning of this season and have seen it grow from strength to strength. We have engaged with companies from the East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire areas enabling businesses to expand their growth opportunity.”
