Our annual awards night was held on the 11th October and brought all the glitz and glamour we have come to expect from recent years!
We hosted our event at the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield, with entertainment provided by The Fun Experts – including Dance Mats, a selfie mirror and a Mario Kart station!
As always, there were drinks flowing and lots of action on the dancefloor (and a few sore heads in the morning!)

We began our awards ceremony by congratulating our newest graduates of our Essential Academy!
Upon joining Essential, all staff are enrolled on to our comprehensive training programme which ensures they are taught absolutely everything they need to know about the recruitment industry and the inner workings of our company.
Congratulations to our graduates of level 1 – Amy, Amelia, Sam and Will.
The Year Clubs
This year we welcomed new members into our year clubs, where we recognised those who have given so much to the company over their time with us.
Natalie Elliott joined our 5 year club, and Andrea and Lauren joined our 10 year club.
Special Recognitions
It is always so hard to narrow our special recognitions down to just 5 awards, but there were a few that stood out in particular this year…
Special Recognition: Burton Office
Our Burton team have had an amazing year as the team have developed together, supported eachother and shown all the drive and tenacity you could ask for. The fruits of their labour have been abudant, with a big increase in both clients and working candidates.

Special Recognition: Katy
Katy was recognised for her development over the past year. She has grown in confidence, assisted her Branch Manager with maintaining a smooth relationship with our compliance team, enjoyed success in her sales outreach and developed relationships with our clients.
Operations Manager, Rob said ” Katy has gone from strength to strength this year. It’s been great to watch her development so far and we are all excited to see how much further she can go.”

Special Recognition: Jamie-Leigh
Jamie-Leigh was recognised for her achievements in leading our Doncaster office after a progression journey with Essential. She began in our Mansfield office, then transitioned to our Worksop office before taking on the challenge of Doncaster, which she has seen a great deal of success with since!
Operations Manager, Samantha said “What an absolute success story. Jamie-Leigh has grown tremendously this year, her daily efforts never go unnoticed – with her can-do attitude and dedication to her job resulting in her promotion to Senior Consultant”

Special Recognition: Andrea
Our Senior Business Development Manager and Trustee, Andrea, was nominated for an award based on her passion and contribution to the business, which goes above and beyond her role – she is well known in the company for her support and friendship.
Her nomination was from a colleague, who said: “Andrea is honestly one of the nicest people to work with, not just a brilliant colleague but a genuinely lovely friend too. She’s always supportive, no matter what’s going on, and will go out of her way to help anyone. She goes above and beyond every single day, and she’s just a pleasure to be around. I feel really lucky to work with her, she makes the tough days easier and the good days even better.”

Special Recognition: Charlie
Charlie is part of our Essential Professional division, but has worn many hats over her 1o+ year tenure with us. She joined our Burton office as a Consultant, progressed to Branch Manager, then transitioned to our Business Development team before moving to Essential Professional – where she has really excelled.
Our MD, Marc said “The move across to Essential Professional has been a huge success and I feel it is only the beginning“

The Noscars
These iconic awards might look like the Oscars, but don’t be fooled – they’re definitely Not! The Noscars are our opprtunity to poke a little fun at our staff members for the daft things they’ve done over the years and -think- they’ve gotten away with!
We won’t go public with the reasons they were nominated, we’ll let your imaginations go wild!
Our winners this year were: Sarah, Paula, Lisa, Will, Paula (again!) and Sam.
Next year we’ll be celebrating our 20th anniverary! Expect the biggest, best, glitziest, (probably drunkest) event yet!
