Yard Operative, Barnsley

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a family run business based in Barnsley.

You will be taken under the wing of experts within the Metal Recycling industry offering support and training to ensure you have a successful, long-term career within their family run business.

Rate of pay:

• £12.71 per hour
• Rising after probation period

Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 8am – 4:30pm

Duties include:

• Stripping down and sorting a variety of metals, raw materials and electrical cables
• Using tools such as grinders, saws and alligator shears to prepare materials for recycling
• Dismantling transformers, switch gears and gas units
• Separating a variety of materials in a non-ferrous area
• Degassing units
• Loading and unloading materials from vehicles
• Ensure the working area is kept clean and tidy at all times
• Adhering to company procedures and health and safety standards at all time.
• Various other duties may be required once fully trained

Skills required:

• Successful candidates MUST be looking for a long-term career.
• Positive, ‘can do ‘attitude and willing to learn new skills
• Candidate must be fit and healthy due to the physical demands of the role
• Previous experience within a similar, hands on role
• Candidates must be willing to complete regular drugs and alcohol tests.
• Excellent eye for details
