Yard Operative– Barnsley

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a family run business based in Barnsley.
You will be taken under the wing of experts within the Metal Recycling industry offering support and training to ensure you have a successful, long-term career within their family run business.

Details:

• Full training and PPE provided
• Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm, no weekends!
• £26,436.80 per annum (based on 40hr working week)
• Immediate starts!
• Full-time, permanent contract available
• On-site parking
• Break out room with refreshments!

Role responsibilities:

• Stripping down and sorting a variety of metals, raw materials and electrical cables
• Using tools such as grinders, saws and alligator shears to prepare materials for recycling
• Dismantling transformers, switch gears and gas units
• Separating a variety of materials in a non-ferrous area
• Degassing units
• Loading and unloading materials from vehicles
• Ensure the working area is kept clean and tidy at all times
• Adhering to company procedures and health and safety standards at all time.
• Various other duties may be required once fully trained

Role requirements:

• Successful candidates MUST be looking for a long-term career
• Candidates MUST have some experience burning/welding
• Candidates must have a good attitude and be willing to learn
• Candidate must be fit and healthy due to the physical demands of the role
• Previous experience within a similar role is beneficial but not essential
• Full UK Driving License beneficial but no essential
• Experience using FLT/Overhead Cranes advantageous but not a necessity
• Candidates must be willing to complete regular drugs and alcohol tests
• Resilient ‘can do’ attitude’
• Excellent eye for details
