Yard Labourer with Forklift Counterbalance, Doncaster

A busy team based in Harworth, Doncaster are seeking an experienced and hardworking Yard Labourer with a forklift counterbalance licence to join them on a temporary ongoing basis.

As a Yard Operative you’ll be in a physically demanding role, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working outdoors, handling heavy materials and getting stuck in with general yard duties.

As well as general yard/labouring duties you will also be required to operate forklift trucks to move stock and materials around the yard, so a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential for this position.

We’re keen to speak to candidates working in a Yard Operative, Labourer or warehouse role, however if you’re a hard worker with a forklift licence who’s happy to get stuck in, please get in touch.

Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 8am – 4:30pm

Pay rate:

• £13.13 per hour

Contract:

• Temporary ongoing

Duties of a Yard Operative:

• Moving stock and materials from the yard into the stores
• Loading products and materials onto machinery
• Collecting and fetching items as required by the team
• Cutting conveyor belts to the required size
• Handling and moving heavy conveyor belts and other materials
• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift to move stock around the yard
• Loading, unloading and positioning materials safely
• Keeping the yard and work areas clean, tidy and organised
• Carrying out general yard and labouring duties as required
• Following all site health and safety procedures
• Working effectively as part of a busy team

Requirements for this Yard Operative role:

• Reliable, hardworking and physically fit, with a positive attitude towards manual work
• You must be comfortable with a physically demanding workload and be happy to get involved with all aspects of the job
• You must also hold a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence and have the confidence and experience to operate the truck safely around the yard.
• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, manufacturing or similar environment would be advantageous, although the right attitude and willingness to work hard are equally important.
