Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, Swadlincote

Due to a continued increase in business, this company in Swadlincote are looking for a Pre-Delivery Inspector / Engineer to join an expanding team on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a business that has made recent, considerable investment into their people and equipment – continuous training and development is offered to staff to ensure they remain highly skilled.

The ideal candidate will be happy with manual handling and heavy lifting with the ability to work within a small team. They may have completed a mechanical course at college, had some experience in manufacturing / engineering, worked in garage or with power tools.

Pay Rate: £32,760 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am – 4pm OR 7am – 5pm – no weekends!

Contract: Temporary to permanent contract

Duties of a Pre-Delivery Inspector/PDI Engineer:

• Carrying out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on a range of equipment
• Completing routine safety and operational checks
• Identifying and reporting any faults or issues
• Ensuring equipment is clean, fully functional and compliant with safety standards
• Working closely with the engineering team to maintain high service levels
• Making sure equipment meets company and manufacturer standards before dispatch

Experience for this Pre-Delivery Inspector/PDI Engineer role:

• Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or a similar field is desirable –
• Experience working with access equipment such as scissor lifts or boom lifts would be advantageous
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and solve problems
• Able to prioritise workloads in a busy workshop environment
