FLT and Assembly Operative, Rotherham

A local, well-established manufacturer in the Goldthorpe area of Rotherham are currently looking for a FLT and Assembly Operative with a Forklift Counterbalance licence.

You will be working towards a long-term career within the manufacturing and distribution industry, offering plenty of career progression opportunities along the way!

As a FLT and Assembly Operative you will be in a varied role from assembly to preparation and testing to quality checks and stock control.

We are ideally looking for someone with at least 1 years’ experience in an Assembly Operative, Manufacturing Operative or similar workshop role, with a certified forklift licence.

Benefits:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5pm

Main duties of a Workshop Operative:

• Carry out hands-on workshop tasks including assembly, preparation, testing, and support of equipment
• Perform basic technical testing and record results using company systems
• Complete quality checks and report defects or non-conformances as required
• Analyse faults and complete repairs as required
• Prepare and organise parts for workshop jobs and customer orders
• Support stock control activities including cycle counts and annual stock takes
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop and storage environment
• Assist with layout, workflow, and space-efficiency improvements
• Liaise with internal teams and external service providers when required
• Carry out additional workshop and operational duties as reasonably required
• Other duties as required

Skills Required of a Workshop Operative:

• Suitable candidates must have at least a years’ experience in manufacturing/assembly work.
• Computer literate
• Ability to communicate effectively with various departments
• Excellent attention to detail
• Forklift licenses must be certified
