Workshop Engineer

Location: Shrewsbury

Salary: £18.50 per hour (£38,480 basic salary)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4:30pm

 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Engineer to join a well-established and growing machinery dealership. This is a workshop-based role working on a range of industry-leading construction and plant equipment, carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs.

This position would suit a skilled engineer from a plant, agricultural, heavy equipment or similar engineering background who enjoys fault-finding and delivering high standards of workmanship.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and repair a range of construction and plant machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
  • Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Complete repairs efficiently and to manufacturer standards.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and software to identify faults.
  • Complete all job cards and service documentation accurately.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with other engineers and workshop personnel to ensure customer expectations are met.

 

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience working on plant, construction, agricultural, or heavy equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Relevant engineering qualification.

 

Desirable

  • Level 3 Plant Maintenance qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience using diagnostic software and equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • MPQC certification.

 

Package

  • £18.50 per hour basic rate.
  • Basic salary of £38,480 per annum.
  • Overtime available.
