A local fast-growing, family run publisher of non-fiction books, based in the heart of Barnsley town centre, are looking for a dedicated Warehouse Picker to join their busy, friendly team.

As a Warehouse Picker you will be picking book and magazine orders, using a PDA device to remove the picks from stock inventory and other warehouse duties as needed. If you have experience in a Warehouse Operative, Order Picker or similar warehouse role this would be beneficial.

 

Hours of work:
  • Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5pm
  • Friday, 9am – 4.30pm

 

Pay:
  • £12.71 per hour

 

Contract:
  • Temporary to permanent

Duties of a Warehouse Picker:
  • Picking of books / magazines items using paper based picksheets
  • Scanning of picks using PDA device to remove from stock inventory
  • Cross referencing to customer orders
  • Working within a fast paced environment to ensure customer orders are ready for collections
  • Ensuring stock are in correct pick locations
  • Reporting / raising any errors to management to ensure
  • Cleaning / tidying and recycling of waste (i.e, breaking down of plastic and cardboard)
  • Other duties as and when needed

 

Skills required as a Warehouse Picker:
  • Previous experience with a similar environment would be beneficial (i.e. Warehouse Operative, Order Picker)
  • Ability to work from paper based pick sheets
  • Must be numerate and literate
  • Physically fit due to the nature of the job role
