Warehouse Operative

Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire, with travel to customer sites across the UK

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Hours: Monday -Friday 08:00am – 17:00pm – Occasional weekend work and overtime available, flexibility will be required

We are looking for a reliable Warehouse Operative to join our client’s busy production team.

This is a hands-on role that combines day-to-day warehouse duties with responsibility for overseeing stock control, maintaining warehouse standards, and supporting the wider team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of warehouse processes, ensuring materials, equipment and assets are accurately managed and readily available to support business operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and support the day-to-day activities of the warehouse team
  • Take ownership of stock control processes, ensuring accuracy and accountability across all inventory
  • Monitor warehouse performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and organisation
  • Allocate workloads and support colleagues to ensure tasks are completed effectively
  • Conduct regular stock audits and investigate discrepancies
  • Ensure all materials, assets and equipment are stored correctly and can be easily located when required
  • Maintain accurate records using stock management systems and warehouse software
  • Support training and development of team members where required
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are adhered to throughout the warehouse operation

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a Warehouse Team Leader, Supervisor or Senior Warehouse Operative role
  • Strong stock control and inventory management experience
  • Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support a team
  • Confident making decisions and using your own initiative
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Forklift licence is required
  • Full UK Driving Licence – Desirable
