Warehouse & Transport Manager

 

Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum

Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

Location: Matlock (driving licence and own vehicle required due to the location of the role)

 

We are recruiting for an experienced Warehouse & Transport Manager to oversee goods-in operations and support the smooth, efficient running of a busy manufacturing warehouse environment.

This is a newly created role designed to strengthen the site’s senior operational structure.

You will take ownership of goods-in, warehouse systems and transport coordination, while working closely with an established Goods-Out function and wider production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all goods-in activities, ensuring accurate receipt, inspection and storage of materials
  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring a smooth, well-organised setup
  • Use and maintain MRP systems for stock accuracy and control
  • Coordinate transport activity and oversee external and employed drivers
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and lean principles
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety and warehouse best practice
  • Work collaboratively with production, dispatch and senior management to ensure OTIF delivery
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and flow within the warehouse

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Manager role
  • Strong understanding of goods-in processes and stock control
  • Experience using MRP or warehouse management systems
  • Exposure to 5S, lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environments
  • Confident coordinating transport and working with drivers (training available if required)
  • CPC qualification desirable (or willingness to work towards)
  • A proactive, organised and people-focused leadership style
  • Full UK driving licence required
