Transport Planner, Sheffield

Transport Planner

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00–17:00, with occasional Saturdays 07:00–12:00.

Overtime: Any hours worked beyond 40 hours per week paid at time and a half.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Transport Planner to join our client’s team.

This role involves managing and coordinating transport routes, logistics operations, and wider business requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement transport plans that align with operational goals.
• Analyse data to determine optimal delivery routes and scheduling.
• Collaborate with drivers, customers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Maintain precise and up-to-date records of transport activity using digital systems.
• Provide administrative support, including data entry and general office duties.
• Communicate professionally via phone and written correspondence.
• Produce and present transport-related data reports for clients.

Requirements:

• Strong IT proficiency.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Previous experience in data entry and general administration within an office environment.
• Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional telephone etiquette.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in transport planning or logistics is preferred but not essential.
