Trade Counter / Warehouse Assistant – Barnsley

We are currently recruiting for a Trade Counter / Warehouse Assistant to join a family-run business in Barnsley. This is a fantastic temporary to permanent opportunity for someone with warehouse and trade counter experience, offering progression within a supportive team.

Salary:

• Up to £25,000 per annum

Hours of Work:

• Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm
• Early finish on Friday

Main Duties:

• Receive, check, and book-in deliveries accurately
• Organise and store stock, including bulk and daily items
• Pick, pack, re-pack and despatch customer orders
• Serve customers at the trade counter and handle transactions
• Arrange couriers for national and international deliveries
• Maintain stock levels and replenish shelves
• Provide professional product support to customers
• Ensure compliance with health & safety policies
• Assist Accounts with customer issue resolution
• Supervise daily courier collections
• Participate in annual stock takes
• Attend training and product knowledge sessions

Requirements:

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Full UK driving licence and own transport
• Organised, able to prioritise workload independently
• Team player with a proactive approach
• Experience in an electrical wholesale warehouse/stores environment is essential
• Counterbalance forklift licence preferred (training available)
