TIG Welder, Sutton in Ashfield

We have an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder looking to join a growing team on a permanent basis!

We are currently recruiting for an experienced TIG Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The primary purpose of the role is to weld thin sheet metal (1.2mm thickness) to the required quality standard of ISO 9606-1 in a production environment. The successful candidate will also produce fillet welds on 316 stainless steel components, working from engineering drawings and ensuring all work meets quality and production targets.

 

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Contract: Permanent
Pay Rate: Up to £18.63 per hour

 

Working Hours

• Mornings: 6am – 2pm
• Afternoons: 2pm – 10pm
• Nights: 10pm – 6am (during busy periods only)

 

Key Responsibilities of a TIG Welder

• Produce high-quality TIG welds to ISO 9606-1
• Fabricate and weld stainless steel components in line with engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Mark out, prepare and assemble components before welding.
• Carry out self-inspection using relevant inspection equipment.
• Consistently achieve production and quality targets.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a team.

 

Skills & Experience Required for this TIG Welder Position

• Successful completion of a weld test.
• Minimum of 1 year’s TIG welding and fabrication experience.
• Welding skills coded to ISO 9606-1
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using inspection equipment to assess and verify work quality.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve production issues using a root cause analysis approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated, reliable and results-driven with a positive, proactive attitude.
