Location: Eckington, Sheffield

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (37.5 hours per week)

Pay Rate: £17.00 per hour

Contract: Temp ongoing

 

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and Test Engineer to join a company based in Eckington. This role is key to ensuring all equipment is fully tested, compliant, and meets both engineering standards and customer expectations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out workshop test activities, including safety and functional testing, to ensure all equipment is fully operational and meets customer requirements, engineering instructions, and build standards.
  • Conduct Customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) once deemed competent on specific equipment.
  • Provide support to the UK service department for equipment produced within the UK.
  • Ensure all tasks and responsibilities are performed in full compliance with International Trade Compliance (ITC) regulations and the company’s ITC certification programme.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Ideally, experience or knowledge in standby power and emergency lighting equipment; however, relevant panel building and factory testing experience will be considered.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational and time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Confident in liaising with colleagues across various departments and levels.
  • Flexible approach with strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
