We are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and growing specialist contractor within the civil engineering and groundworks sector.
This is a key, standalone role within the business, offering full ownership of the commercial and contracts function. You will play a pivotal part in managing projects from initial tender through to final account, working closely with senior leadership to support the continued growth of the business.
This position would suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is looking for greater autonomy and responsibility, or a Senior QS ready to step into a more influential role within a smaller, dynamic organisation.
Salary: £70,000 per annum + Company Car
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
Contract: Permanent
The Role of a Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Take full responsibility for the commercial and contractual management of projects across the UK
- Manage the full project lifecycle, from tendering through to final account
- Negotiate and agree contracts with new and existing clients
- Oversee project costs, budgets, and financial performance
- Manage multiple projects and portfolios ranging from £100K to £10M
- Ensure compliance with NEC 3 & 4 contracts
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Support business development activity and tender submissions
- Provide commercial insight and guidance to internal teams
- Identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
About You:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or groundworks
- Strong working knowledge of NEC 3 & 4 contracts
- Experience managing multiple projects and commercial portfolios
- Confident working independently and taking ownership of your function
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- Experience within dewatering, infrastructure, or specialist contracting environments
