Extensive training and development opportunities are available, with a clear progression route towards a future QHSE-focused position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspection of production parts using a variety of measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Support the control and investigation of non-conforming products.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis using tools such as 5 Why, CAPA and 8D methodologies.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer quality concerns and complaints.
  • Create, maintain and update quality documentation, including work instructions, quality alerts and inspection records.
  • Support compliance with ISO9001:2015 quality management systems.
  • Participate in and support internal audits.
  • Drive and contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Liaise with production, engineering, customers and other departments to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Operate quality inspection equipment including callipers, micrometres, gauges and microscopes.
  • Attend and contribute to quality meetings, customer visits and other activities relevant to the role.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous quality inspection experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Hands-on experience conducting dimensional inspections and measurements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using inspection equipment such as callipers, micrometres and gauges.
  • Understanding of non-conformance management and Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • Experience supporting Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001:2015.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ambition to progress from a quality inspection background into a Quality Engineering role.

Desirable Requirements

  • Internal Auditor qualification or auditing experience.
  • Experience operating or programming CMM equipment.
  • Experience using Planar or Keyence IM measurement systems.
  • SAP or similar MRP/ERP system experience.
  • Six Sigma qualification or Lean Manufacturing experience.
