Retail Assistant – S73 – Wombwell

We are currently recruiting for a Retail Assistant to join a small and friendly team within a local hardware store in Wombwell. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and approachable individual who enjoys face-to-face customer service and working in a hands-on retail environment. The Retail Assistant will support daily store operations, assist customers and help maintain an organised shop floor.

Details:

• Immediate starts available
• Temporary ongoing position
• One shift per week – 9am–4pm (between Monday to Saturday)
• £12.21 per hour
• Weekends may be included

Duties include:

• Providing great face-to-face customer service daily
• Dealing with customer queries and offering advice where needed
• Gaining product knowledge (training included)
• Operating till systems and cash handling
• Assisting with deliveries and putting stock away into correct locations
• Replenishing and tidying the shop floor
• General upkeep and cleaning of the area

Requirements:

• Previous experience within retail or customer service is essential
• Physically fit due to the nature of the role
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be numerate and literate due to cash handling
