Operations Manager, Near Retford 

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager to join a busy manufacturing facility near Retford on a permanent basis.

In this Operations Manager role you will be leading the day to day running of site operations, monitoring KPIs, productivity, ensuring compliance and quality and achieving performance targets. As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for driving actions to improve productivity and profitability, as well as leading and developing your team ensuring continuous improvement.

We are keen to speak to candidates with experience in an Operations Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Shift Manager, Site Manger or similar role. If you have strong experience in people management, operational performance, commercial awareness and implementing continuous improvement, please get in touch.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Operations Manager:

Operations Leadership

• Lead the day-to-day running of site operations, ensuring productivity, quality and performance targets are achieved.
• Develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, maximise resources and support business growth.
• Monitor key performance indicators, analyse operational data and drive actions that improve productivity and profitability.
• Lead and develop teams, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.

Supply Chain & Commercial Management

• Manage supplier relationships, procurement activities and commercial negotiations to ensure the best value and service.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure resources, materials and operational requirements are delivered effectively.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve supplier performance and strengthen operational resilience.

Continuous Improvement, Compliance & Best Practice

• Champion continuous improvement initiatives, implementing Lean and best-practice methodologies to enhance operational performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures and health and safety standards.
• Lead investigations into operational issues, implementing corrective actions and sustainable solutions.
• Support strategic projects and business improvement initiatives that drive long-term success.

Experience and Skills of Operations Manager:

• Previous experience in an Operations Manager, Production Manager, Site Manager or Manufacturing Manager position
• Strong leadership and people management experience
• Experience of improving operational performance and efficiency
• Supplier management and procurement experience
• Strong commercial awareness and budgeting experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindset
• Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, CI or 5S methodologies
