Metal Processing Operative with FLT, Rotherham

We are currently recruiting for a Metal Processing Operative with FLT experience on behalf of a family run business based in Mexborough, Rotherham.

You will be taken under the wing of experts within the Metal Recycling industry offering support and training to ensure you have a successful, long-term career within their family run business.

Pay Rate:

• Up to £14.50 per hour
• Increasing to £14.76 after 12 weeks

Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:15am – 4:15pm

Main duties of the job:

• Stripping down and sorting a variety of metals, raw materials
• Movement of stock using a forklift and putting stock away into racking
• Picking of stock and materials using a Forklift Reach Truck
• Using tools such as grinders, saws and alligator shears to prepare materials for recycling
• Separating a variety of materials in a ferrous and non-ferrous area
• Loading and unloading materials from vehicles
• Ensure the working area is always kept clean and tidy
• Adhering to company procedures and health and safety standards at all times
• Various other duties may be required once fully trained

Skills Required

• Forklift Counterbalance License is essential (both accredited & in-house licenses accepted)
• Must have a full UK driving license
• Must have a good attitude and be willing to learn
• Must be numerate and literate due to demands of role
• Must be fit and healthy due to the physical demands of the role
• Must be looking for a long-term career
• Previous experience within a similar role is beneficial but not essential
• Resilient ‘can do’ attitude’
• Excellent eye for detail
