Manufacturing Operative, Huddersfield

We are currently recruiting a Brick Manufacturing Operative to join a fast growing brick slip specialist based in Huddersfield on a temporary to permanent basis.

As a Manufacturing Operative you will be assisting in the general manufacture and assembly of brick slips and brick boards. The role also include machine operation of a range of machines from CNC to grinders and saws.

This position not only offers the opportunity to expand your manufacturing skillset but you’ll also receive inhouse forklift training after you’ve gained a permanent contract.

If you have any previous experience in a Manufacturing Operative, Production Operative, Machine Operator or similar role in an industrial environment would be advantageous.

Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour (time and a half after 40 hours)

Hours: Monday to Friday / 7:30am – 4pm

Contract: Temp to perm

Duties of a Manufacturing Operative include:

• General manufacturing of brick slips and assembling brick boards
• Mixing resin and sticking bricks to MGO board
• Setting and operating various machines such as; CNC Machines (water jet machine), Grinders, Groover machines, Auto Saws and Clipper Saws
• Loading and unloading materials in the yard manually, stacking and strapping of pallets ready for outbound when needed
• Manual handling of raw materials when needed
• Industrial cleaning, cleaning down machines, work surfaces, factory floors.
• Use of forklift to load and unload once trained
• Other industrial duties when required.

Skills Required for this Manufacturing Operative position:

• Physically fit due to the nature of the role
• Previously yard, brick manufacturing or industrial work experience would be preferred
• Positive ‘can do’ attitude towards work
• Enthusiastic approach to training and learning new skills
• Own transport would be preferred but not essential
