Maintenance Fitter – Mechanically Biased

Hours: 3 Week Rotating Shift Pattern

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum

Location: Lockerbie

Contract Type: Permanent

Due to continued growth and expansion we are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Fitter- Mechanically Biased to join our business in Lockerbie on a permanent basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting and repair duties across the site in a timely manner
• Providing leadership in maintaining plant production capacity
• Continuous improvement activities increasing plant reliability
• Assisting in the continuous improvement of equipment, maximisation of production, efficiency, improving safety and minimising downtime
• Maintenance repair on pneumatic and hydralic parts of production line
• Some more limited electrical tasks will needed to be carried out in support of the electrical maintenance team and electrical fitters
• Contribution to the delivery of production targets and HSE KPIs
• Providing operator and maintenance training to maximise multi-skilling

Experience and Skills:

• Apprentice-trained or experience through time-served
• Ideally level 3 qualified
• Are a positive, personable and an effective team player
• Are driven and committed
• Have acute attention to detail
• Have top-notch troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Are self-motivated and organised
• Candidates will ideally have their own transport due to relatively remote location
• Candidates will ideally live no more than 40 mins from listed location
• Candidates will have expereince working on heavy plant machinery or similar
• Are enthusiastic, flexible and adaptable
