Maintenance Engineer

Hours: Monday – Friday / 6:00am – 15:18pm & 15:18pm – 23:48pm – Rotating shifts

Salary: £47,000 – £50,000 per annum + opportunities for overtime and bonuses

Location: Castle Donington

Contract Type: Permanent

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis in Castle Donington.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on machinery, equipment and building services.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
  • Ensure all equipment operates in line with safety and performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and equipment logs.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and engineering best practice.
  • Assist with audits, inspections and risk assessments.
  • Conduct mechanical and/or electrical fault finding.
  • Work with PLCs, automation systems, hydraulics, pneumatics or CNC equipment (depending on background).
  • Use mechanical and electrical diagnostic tools effectively.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Support production teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of machinery and upgrades.

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Flexible, committed, and confident with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong teamwork, enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • PC literate, with good knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and numeracy skills.
  • General Maintenance Apprenticeship (desired).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Level 3 Engineering or Maintenance qualification (essential).
  • Strong electro-mechanical aptitude with experience in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic or mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing processes (5S, Kaizen, TPM, AM/PM)
