Machine Operative – rotating shifts

Due to continued growth we are looking for a number of experienced machine operatives to join a well-known worldwide tool company in the Rotherham area on a permanent basis.

Benefits

• Monday to Friday 6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 10pm–6am rotating shifts (37 hrs per week) – must be able to work all 3 shifts
• Between £29,985–£32,663 depending on experience
• Regular overtime available
• Permanent contract

• Onsite fully equipped kitchen with vending machines

Main duties of the job

• Set and operate various machines associated with the manufacturing process
• Collection and quality checking of materials to be used in the production process
• Routine machine checks and maintenance tasks
• Accurately record information relating to scrap, downtime, and machine issues
• Manual production and packing operations including preparing orders for despatch
• Quality checking finished products
• Various other duties as and when required
• Completion of all relevant safety and quality checks on process and product in accordance with company standards

Skills required

• Previous experience of working in a production / fast paced manufacturing environment would be an advantage (grinding, CNC, press machines)
• Machine setting experience
• Some level of mechanical engineering apprenticeship preferred but not essential
• Forklift truck licence would be beneficial
• Must be numerate and literate
• Have a knowledge and understanding of shop orders
• Ability to meet targets and work to deadlines
