We are currently looking for a Machine Operative to join a well-established business in Darton, Barnsley who offer guaranteed hours, stability and the chance to gain permanent employment.

In this role you will be setting up and operating CNC water jet cutting machines. Any previous Machine Operator experience would be beneficial.

Pay Rate:

  • £13.93 per hour

 

Hours (Weekly Rotating shifts):

  • Days:
    • Monday to Thursday, 5:45am – 2pm
    • Friday, 6am – 1pm
  • Afters:
    • Monday to Thursday, 2pm – 12am

 

Contract:

  • Temporary to permanent

 

Duties:

  • Set up and operate CNC water jet cutting machines.
  • Feeding & offloading materials onto machinery
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure quality standards are met
  • Quality checking of products to highest of standards in line with customer requirements & specifications
  • Performing heavy lifting & manual handling of materials (up to 35kg)
  • Working closely with all departments to meet production targets, schedules & quality standards are being met
  • Reporting of any defects of products & materials to relevant supervisor
  • Maintaining a clean, safe & tidy working environment
  • Following all Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Assisting with other duties, as and when required

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be physically fit due to nature of the role
  • Previous machine operating experience would be beneficial
  • Own transport would be beneficial due to the location
  • Strong attention to detail & ability to follow instructions
  • Must be reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
