HGV Class 2 Driver / FLT Driver

Location: Mansfield

Salary: £34,580 per year

Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30am – 17:00pm (47.5 hours per week, 1-hour lunch)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

 

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 2 HGV Driver / FLT Operator to join our team.

This position offers stability, excellent benefits, and no weekend work.

You will be responsible for the safe delivery of goods and supporting warehouse operations using a Counterbalance FLT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe Vehicle Operation: Drive a Class 2 HGV safely to deliver goods to required destinations.
  • Route Planning: Follow efficient delivery routes, meeting schedules and adapting to traffic conditions.
  • Load Securement: Ensure goods are safely secured before transit.
  • Vehicle Checks: Carry out pre-trip safety inspections.
  • Customer Relations: Deliver goods professionally with excellent customer service.
  • Documentation: Complete delivery notes, driver logs and other paperwork accurately.
  • Compliance: Adhere to road safety laws, working time directives and company H&S policies.
  • Loading & Unloading: Assist with safe handling of goods on-site and in the warehouse.
  • Vehicle Reporting: Report any vehicle faults immediately.
  • FLT Operation: Use a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move stock, organise inventory and assist with warehouse duties.
  • Safety: Report hazards and maintain a safe working environment at all times.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Class 2 HGV Licence (required)
  • Counterbalance FLT Licence (required)
  • Good understanding of road safety regulations
  • Experience with loading, unloading and warehouse stock handling
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
