Heavy Line Sales Manager
Location: Manchester & Liverpool (Home-Based)
Salary: £65,000 Basic Salary + Bonus (OTE £100,000)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Heavy Line Sales Manager to take ownership of a large excavator product range across the North West and North Wales region.
This is a specialist product management role rather than a traditional people management position. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth and market penetration of the heavy line excavator range, supporting the wider sales team with expert product knowledge, strategic customer engagement, and business development.
The role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong construction equipment experience who enjoys developing long-term customer relationships and supporting complex sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the Heavy Line Excavator product range (10T–50T).
- Support the regional sales team with product expertise and technical guidance.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to increase market share within the territory.
- Work closely with sales representatives on key opportunities and major projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts and large fleet customers.
- Identify and develop opportunities within a targeted list of approximately 20 major accounts.
- Lead product demonstrations, customer visits, and Excavator Day events.
- Support negotiations on significant equipment sales opportunities.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
- Provide product and application training to the wider sales team where required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across sales, service, and marketing functions.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience within the construction equipment, plant machinery, or heavy equipment sector.
- Strong knowledge of excavators or earthmoving equipment.
- Demonstrable commercial and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing key accounts and strategic customer relationships.
- Ability to support and influence sales teams without direct management responsibility.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a home-based environment.
Desirable
- Experience selling or supporting large excavators.
- Knowledge of heavy plant machinery and earthmoving equipment.
- Understanding of the quarrying, waste, recycling, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience delivering demonstrations, product launches, or customer events.
We are looking for an individual who combines technical expertise with strong commercial awareness. This is a strategic, relationship-led role suited to someone who enjoys nurturing long-term opportunities rather than focusing solely on transactional sales.
The successful candidate will become the recognised specialist for the Heavy Line product range, helping both customers and colleagues maximise opportunities across the region while supporting the continued growth of the business
This role is being advertised by Essential Recruitment and Professional, a recruitment agency.
