Goods In Warehouse Operative – Barnsley Town Centre

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company based in Barnsley town centre, who are seeking a reliable and dedicated Goods In Warehouse Operative to join their busy and friendly team.

This is a varied, hands-on role with full training provided across all areas of the warehouse, offering a permanent position for someone seeking a long-term career and progression.

Hours/Pay:

• Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm
• £12.37 per hour

Main Duties:

• Assisting with goods-in duties, including data input and use of Excel spreadsheets
• Booking delivery time slots and re-directing orders when required
• Picking orders using paper pick sheets
• Packaging orders ready for despatch, including shrink wrapping, palletising, boxing and bagging
• Inputting shipment details onto bespoke computer software (full training provided)
• Supporting other warehouse duties and participating in in-house training

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience within goods-in, despatch, or a long-term warehouse role is essential
• Computer literate with experience using Excel, Word and Microsoft systems
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills – liaising with drivers and customers regarding orders and updates
• Ability to meet targets and work to deadlines
