General Operative, Rotherham

Looking for factory work with a fast growing local manufacturer?

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic General Operative to join a local manufacturing team on a temporary to permanent basis.

As a General Operative you will be in a varied role, performing general manufacturing duties such as operating machinery, loading and unloading materials, quality checking, palletising and performing other general production and factory duties as needed. Please note this role does involve heavy lifting.

Details and Benefits;

• Rotating shifts (days, afternoons & nights)
• Days: 5.45am – 2pm (Monday – Friday)
• Afters: 1.45 pm – 10pm (Monday – Friday)
• Nights: 9.45pm – 6am (Sunday – Thursday)
• £12.71 per hour

Duties of a General Operative;

• Operating of various machinery including roller pack
• Cross referencing frames & components against product codes & specifications
• Heavy lifting of items across all departments
• Loading & offloading materials from machinery
• Use of clipping equipment repetitively for attaching springs to units
• Quality checking of items to meet customer expectations
• Recording of findings & reporting of machine faults to Engineers / Management
• Palletising & banding of heavy materials & products
• Ensuring all waste / rubbish is disposed of correctly & maintain a clean & tidy working environment
• Other duties included, as and when required

Requirements of a General Operative;

• Must be physically fit due to nature of the role
• Both numerate & literate with expectancy of completing paperwork when needed
• Own transport would be essential due to working hours & location
• Ability to multi-task as well as working as part of a team
