Job Title: General Operative (Animal Collection & Processing)

Location: DN6

Job Type: Temp-Perm

Hours: Monday to Friday

Pay: £12.60 – £13.15

Training: (First 4–6 weeks): 6:00am – 3:00pm

Post-Training Shifts (Alternating Weekly):

• 6:00am – 3:00pm
• 11:00am – 8:00pm

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking General Operative to join our team. This role involves the respectful collection and processing of deceased animals for cremation services.

This is a physically demanding role, requiring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Occasionally driving company vans to collect animals from veterinary practices (Full UK Driving Licence required)
• Safe and respectful handling of animal remains
• Operating machinery at high temperatures as part of the cremation process
• Heavy lifting and manual handling
• Using ink to take and record prints on paper
• Labelling remains accurately and carefully
• Basic computer input
• Recycling animal by-products in line with environmental regulations
• Ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
• Comfortable with physical work and heavy lifting
• Able to work with sensitivity and professionalism in emotionally challenging situations
• Comfortable working with high-temperature machinery (training provided)
• Basic literacy and ability to follow instructions and record data
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
