Food Packing Operative, Rotherham

We are currently recruiting for an Experienced Food Packing Operative to join our client that works with raw meat, located in the S60 area of Rotherham.

In this Food Packing Operative role you will be working within a refrigerated environment on automated packing machines, loading raw meat into the machines, quality checking finished products, labelling stock for delivery and picking orders using paper pick sheets.

We’re keen to speak to candidates with experience in a food production/food processing environment, as a Food Production Operative, Food Packing Operative, Factory Operative, Production Line Packer or similar.

Pay Rate:

• £12.71 per hour

Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 7am – 3pm
• Must be able to work the occasional weekend if needed

Contract:

• Temp to perm role

Duties of a Food Packing Operative:

• Working on automated packing machines
• Physically handling of raw meats to load onto machinery
• Checking machinery is running correctly to ensure highest quality packaging
• Reporting of any errors to Management / Supervisors
• Quality checking for any discrepancies in orders before despatch
• Labelling of stock correctly for deliveries
• Working within a refrigerated environment
• Picking orders using paper based pick sheets
• Ensuring Health + Safety and Hygiene policies are being followed at all times
• General upkeep of the work area to ensure a safe working area
• Other duties included, as and when required

Requirements of a Food Packing Operative:

• Must have worked within a food production environment
• Candidate must be physically fit due to the nature of the job role
• You must be reliable and have good timekeeping
• Keen eye for detail is required
• Must be comfortable working within a refrigerated environment
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
