Engineer Scheduler / Service Controller

Location: Cubley, Ashbourne

Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (42.5 hours per week)

 

We are currently recruiting for an Engineer Scheduler / Service Controller to join a well-established and highly respected business at their brand-new facility in Cubley, Ashbourne.

This is a busy and varied role where you will play a key part in supporting the service operation by coordinating engineers, managing breakdowns, planning workloads and ensuring customers receive a high level of service throughout the entire process.

This role would suit candidates currently working as a Service Controller, Service Coordinator, Engineer Scheduler, Engineer Coordinator, Field Service Coordinator, Service Planner, Maintenance Planner, Resource Planner, Dispatcher, Hire Controller or similar.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and scheduling engineers’ workloads
  • Coordinating field service engineers and technicians
  • Managing reactive breakdowns and service requests
  • Booking service and repair jobs onto the system
  • Allocating engineers based on availability, location and skill set
  • Raising job cards and preparing quotations for remedial works
  • Ordering parts and liaising with suppliers and third-party providers
  • Managing planned maintenance schedules and service visits
  • Keeping customers updated on job progress and completion
  • Handling incoming customer enquiries via phone and email
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of a busy service department
  • Completing general administration duties including invoicing support
  • Maintaining accurate service records and documentation

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a Service Controller, Service Coordinator, Engineer Scheduler, Engineer Coordinator, Field Service Coordinator, Service Planner, Maintenance Planner, Resource Planner, Dispatcher, Hire Controller or similar role
  • Experience coordinating engineers, technicians, delivery drivers or other field-based personnel
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience handling customer enquiries and service-related issues
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Experience using scheduling, service management or planning systems would be advantageous
  • Experience within engineering, maintenance, construction, plant, hire, facilities management, manufacturing or industrial environments would be beneficial
