Dispatch Operative needed in Dinnington

We are recruiting for a Dispatch Operative on behalf of Northern Engineering, a well-established company based in Dinnington. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term employment with excellent training and development opportunities.

Goods In / Dispatch / Warehouse Operative

Pay Rate: £13.25 per hour

Working Hours:

• Training Period: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm
• Permanent Hours Once trained:
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
  • Friday: 7:00am – 12:30pm

Job Overview:

• Goods In / Dispatch in a warehouse role
• Duties include goods receiving, dispatch, stock control, forklift driving, customer service, and occasional van driving
• Must be flexible and able to adapt to different workloads, from fast-paced dispatch periods to quieter waiting times

Key Responsibilities:

• Match product numbers accurately to customer order codes
• Ensure all incoming and outgoing goods are checked correctly
• Load and unload wagons using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (Accredited license preferred but if not they will provide training)
• Label, scan, and prepare products for dispatch
• Book in deliveries and process dispatch paperwork accurately
• Transfer products or stock between sites using a company van when required
• Deal with customer phone enquiries and resolve order-related questions professionally
• Use warehouse systems/computers for stock control, scanning, and order processing
• Support different warehouse functions as required depending on business needs

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a warehouse environment
• Counterbalance Forklift Truck experience/licence preferred but not essential
• Full UK driving licence required
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Good computer skills
• Strong attention to detail – matching product/customer codes must be exact
• Reliable and adaptable with a flexible attitude
• Comfortable working in both busy and slower-paced periods
• Strong communication skills and confidence speaking to customers over the phone and with the rest of the team
