Despatch Operative, Rotherham

A wholesale meat supplier based in the S60 area of Rotherham are looking for a Despatch Operative to join the team on a temporary ongoing basis.

As a Despatch Operative you will be working within a refrigerated environment picking orders, quality checking raw meat, loading stock to be packed and prepared for despatch, palletising, labelling and other duties as needed.

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have worked within a Warehouse Operative, Order Picker, Quality Checker, Despatch Operative or similar role within a food production environment.

Details and Benefits:

• 6am – 2pm (5 days out of 7 – Sunday – Friday)
• £12.71 per hour
• Guaranteed full time hours

Duties of a Despatch Operative:

• Working within a refrigerated environment
• Picking orders from various refrigerated locations using pick sheets & cross referencing of products from each location are correct
• Quality checking of raw meat before despatch to ensure highest of standard
• Loading stock from trays onto packaging machine to prep for despatch of goods
• Palletising & stacking orders onto pallets (includes movement of stock using manual pump trucks)
• Checking & labelling of stock correctly for deliveries
• Following & adhering to Health + Safety and Hygiene policies
• General upkeep of the work area
• Other duties included, as and when required

Despatch Operative Requirements:

• Must have worked within a food production environment
• Candidate must be physically fit due to the nature of the job role
• Must be both numerate & literate due to working with customer order sheets
• You must be reliable and have good timekeeping
• Keen eye for detail is required
• Must be comfortable working within a refrigerated environment
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
