Compliance Manager (FCA & GDPR)
Location: Bakewell
Salary: Up to £40,000 + Company Car + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
Reporting To: Group Finance Director
Are you an experienced Compliance Manager, Risk & Compliance Manager or Governance professional with knowledge of FCA regulations and data protection legislation?
We’re recruiting for a Compliance Manager to join a successful organisation in a key position responsible for FCA compliance, consumer credit, insurance distribution, GDPR and regulatory governance. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll help shape compliance strategy, assess risk and ensure the business continues to meet all regulatory obligations.
This position is based in Bakewell but easily commutable from Sheffield, Chesterfield, Matlock and surrounding areas.
The role will focus primarily on FCA-regulated activities, consumer credit, insurance distribution and data protection compliance, whilst helping to promote a culture of compliance across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities of a Compliance Manager:
- Provide regulatory oversight and ensure compliance with FCA and ICO requirements.
- Monitor and oversee data protection processes, including Subject Access Requests.
- Conduct compliance monitoring, risk assessments and assurance reviews.
- Work with Finance, IT and HR teams to ensure data protection and cyber security controls remain effective.
- Review and improve compliance systems, internal controls and regulatory procedures.
- Assist with compliance-related training and awareness initiatives.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and advise senior management accordingly.
- Prepare reports and submissions for regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Support the development of compliance manuals, policies and procedures.
- Participate in FCA and GDPR committee activities.
About You:
We’re looking for a compliance professional who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a compliance, governance, risk or regulatory role.
- A strong financial or finance-related background.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- The ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Automotive industry experience would be advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience producing reports and documentation.
