Buyer, Eckington

We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join a successful manufacturing business based in Eckington on a temp to permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Buyer or procurement experience who enjoys building supplier relationships, managing orders, and ensuring materials are delivered on time to support a busy production operation.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4pm
• Friday: 7:30am – 1pm
• 37.5 hours per week

Pay:

• £16.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities of a Buyer:

• Process purchase orders and ensure materials are available when needed.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and resolve any issues relating to quality, delivery, pricing, or shortages.
• Monitor and update the MRP/ERP system with supplier information and delivery dates.
• Expedite orders and track supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery.
• Work closely with internal teams including Production, Engineering, Sales, and Planning.
• Identify new suppliers and support cost-saving initiatives.
• Attend regular meetings to provide updates on supplier performance and material availability.
• Investigate supply chain issues and help implement solutions.
• Support continuous improvement activities within the procurement team.

About You

• Previous experience in a Buyer, Procurement, or Purchasing role.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
• Confident using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• Experience sourcing electrical and/or mechanical components.
• CIPS qualification or working towards one.
• Experience within electronics or a similar manufacturing sector.
