Easter Egg donations from Ripley!

This year we’re devoting our fundraising efforts to local charities – each month, one of our 9 branches will choose a local charity to fundraise for. With around 50 members of staff, it’s not hard to find a charity we have a connection to, and this month was no different…

Over the past couple of months our Ripley branch has been busy collecting Easter Eggs from local companies to donate to our March Charity of the Month, Arena Church Food Bank and The Salvation Army in Ripley.

The eggs, which came from JEM Transport, Grangers International, HCSThorntons, Bridgeshire Packaging and ourselves have been distributed over the Easter break to some very happy recipients!

We personally donated  £100 from our weekly dress down days which we price matched to give us a total of £200.

The Arena Church launched it’s own food bank in 2010 due to an increased demand for the services. They’ve since handed out thousands of parcels to people in Ilkeston and the surrounding areas.

It’s a place that our Senior Consultant Lauren has a close connection with:

“ I used to live next door to one of the rented houses in which the foodbank accommodated people such as Abuse Victims and those being rehabilitated so I saw the value in their work first hand – our neighbours had been homeless before Arena helped. About 3 years ago my Fiancé set up a chocolate amnesty to donate to the food bank at The Platinum Gym in Ilkeston. The members donated selection boxes and chocolates in return for a raffle ticket to win things like Personal Training and Gym Memberships. Since then, my family put together hampers at Christmas instead of exchanging Christmas cards. We also donate quite a bit to the furniture bank.”

“Handing the eggs out really makes you see how many people and families benefit from the food bank. It was great to be able to give them something to support that”. Lauren, Senior Recruitment Consultant.

We also donated to the Salvation Army in Ripley. They help those who struggle with everything from Homelessness to Modern Day Slavery, Unemployment to Domestic Abuse and everything in between.
